Bathroom Fitters in Solihull
Bathrooms in Solihull run the gamut: period bathrooms in Knowle and Dorridge period properties, shared-wall bathrooms in interwar semis across Olton and Sharmans Cross, and ensuite-heavy properties in Dickens Heath and Blythe Valley. We design for the space, the building's constraints and your ambition. A wet room in an older property requires careful waterproofing; an ensuite in a loft conversion demands clever service routing.
Bathrooms are inherently wet and high-wear. Proper waterproofing, ventilation and moisture management are non-negotiable. We line wet rooms with tanking membranes, grade floors for drainage, install appropriate extractor fans, and finish with quality tiling and sealant. Plumbing is routed to avoid blockages; electrics are installed to Part P with proper circuit protection.
We manage the full bathroom journey: design, materials, installation, tiling, plumbing, electrics, decoration and final snag. Bathroom fitters work alongside our tilers, plasterers and electricians.
What We Do
Bathroom installation in Solihull
Wet rooms & waterproofing
Walk-in wet rooms require a sloped floor (200mm fall across 2-3m), tanking membranes on all surfaces, and a proper floor drain. We specify British-made membranes (Schluter, Mapei, BAL), grade the concrete or timber base, seal all seams and test for leaks before tiling.
En-suites & ensuite bathrooms
Ensuite bathrooms fit into limited space (often a converted corner or alcove in a bedroom or landing). We use compact suites, wall-hung basins and WCs, and efficient tiling and lighting. Plumbing is routed under floors or chased into walls; electrics are zoned for safety (no sockets near bath or shower, only shaver sockets).
Bathroom suites, basins & WCs
We fit modern ceramic or stone basins, high-gloss or matte finishes, wall-hung or pedestal mounts, traditional or contemporary WC designs. All connections are solvent-free push-fit or compression fittings for reliability.
Shower enclosures & tiling
Walk-in shower enclosures with fixed glass panels, frameless screens, or tiled wet rooms. We tile floors with slip-resistant finishes, walls with large-format or decorative tiles, and finish with silicone sealant and trims. Commercial-grade adhesives and grouts for durability.
Plumbing & drainage
Full supply and waste plumbing, including hot/cold, heating feed and towel rails. Waste pipes are appropriately sized (40mm basin, 40-50mm shower, 100mm main drain) and pitched for drainage. Soil stack venting compliant.
Electrics (Part P) & ventilation
New electrics including circuits, sockets (if allowed), lighting, extractor fan and heating circuits. All work to Part P Building Regulations. Extractor fans are sized for the room volume and ducted externally or to a loft void if accessible.
Good to Know
Bathrooms in Solihull properties
The practical and planning side, handled as part of the job.
Period properties & listed buildings
Bathrooms in Knowle, Dorridge and conservation area properties sometimes need to preserve period character or comply with Listed building restrictions. We advise on what is feasible and help with planning or conservation area consents if needed.
Moisture & ventilation
Older Solihull properties may lack proper ventilation or have damp issues. We assess the room and site specification: extractor fans, cross-ventilation, vapour barriers and finishes all play a role in keeping bathrooms dry and mould-free.

Questions & Answers
Bathroom Fitters in Solihull: common questions
How long does a bathroom fit take?+
A straightforward bathroom upgrade (suite, tiling, plumbing, finishing) takes 2-3 weeks. A full strip, new tanking, complex plumbing and decoration can take 4-5 weeks. We plan the schedule so you have minimal disruption to the rest of the house.
Can you install a wet room in my bathroom?+
Yes. We assess the floor level, drainage access and structural conditions. A wet room requires a sloped floor, tanking membranes and a proper floor drain. We design the layout, source materials and manage the full installation.
What happens if there is no extractor vent in my current bathroom?+
We install a new extractor fan and duct it externally. If ducting through exterior walls is impractical, we discuss options (loft void ducting, positive pressure units). An extractor is essential to prevent mould and moisture damage.
How much will a bathroom cost?+
Bathrooms range from simple suite upgrades (budget) to full wet-room builds with premium tiling (higher investment). We visit, understand your brief and provide a fixed-price quote including all labour, materials and finishes.
