Kitchen Fitting & Renovation
Kitchen Fitters in Birmingham & the West Midlands
A new kitchen is the busiest building project in most homes, touching joinery, electrics, plumbing, plastering and tiling at once. CH Developments fits and renovates kitchens across Birmingham and the West Midlands with one team handling every trade.

Overview
Most kitchen problems come from a fit being treated as just unit assembly. A kitchen done well means the walls, floors, electrics and plumbing are all right before a single cabinet goes up, so the doors line up, the worktops sit flat and the appliances work first time. That groundwork is what separates a kitchen that still looks square in ten years from one that drops and gaps within months.
We fit kitchens you have bought from a supplier or showroom, and we deliver full kitchen renovations including knocking through to a wall to create an open-plan kitchen-diner. Either way you get a coordinated job, with the plastering, flooring, electrics, plumbing, worktops and tiling sequenced by one team, rather than a chain of separate trades blaming each other when something does not line up.
We work across Birmingham, Solihull, Sutton Coldfield and the wider West Midlands. The electrical and gas work is carried out by qualified, registered trades with the relevant certificates, we work to current Building Regulations, and we are CHAS-accredited, fully insured and backed by a workmanship guarantee on the finished kitchen.

Good to Know
Planning, regulations and the practical side
The questions worth answering before the work starts. We handle the paperwork and the approvals as part of the job.
Electrical and gas safety
Kitchen electrical work is notifiable under Building Regulations Part P, and gas appliances must be connected by a registered engineer. We use qualified trades and provide the certificates.
Sequence and downtime
A kitchen fit means time without a working kitchen. We plan the sequence to keep that window as short as possible and tell you what to expect week by week.
Knock-throughs and structure
Opening a kitchen into the next room usually means removing a load-bearing wall, which needs a steel beam sized by an engineer and Building Control sign-off. We handle the structural side, not just the units.
What It Costs
What affects the price
Every project is different, so we do not publish one-size figures that rarely hold true. Instead we give you a free, fixed-price quotation after a site visit, so you know the full cost before any work begins. These are the main things that move the price:
- Whether it is a straight refit or a full renovation
- Any structural work such as a knock-through
- Worktop material and appliance specification
- Tiling, flooring and the amount of replastering
- Moving services such as the sink, gas or electrics

Questions & Answers
Kitchens: common questions
How much does a new kitchen cost?+
It depends on the units and appliances you choose, the worktops, and how much building work surrounds the fit. We quote the fitting and building work clearly after a site visit, so the full cost is set before we start.
Can you fit a kitchen I have bought elsewhere?+
Yes. We regularly fit kitchens bought from suppliers and showrooms, coordinating the trades, the worktop templating and the appliances so it all comes together properly.
Do you handle the electrics and plumbing?+
We do. Our qualified electricians and plumbers carry out the notifiable work and provide the relevant certificates, so the whole job is covered by one team.
How long does a kitchen fit take?+
A straightforward refit is usually a couple of weeks; a full renovation with a knock-through, replastering and flooring takes longer. We give you a realistic week-by-week programme with your quote.
Which areas do you cover for kitchen fitting?+
We fit and renovate kitchens across Birmingham & the West Midlands, including Birmingham, Solihull, Sutton Coldfield and the surrounding towns.
